Adam David Gal was born on March 4, 1986, in Marcali, Hungary. Since 2012, he has worked as a freelance wind band conductor, horn player, and arranger.

Conducting Career

After working with numerous amateur bands and university ensembles, Adam became the Musical Director of the Jugendmusikkorps Avenwedde youth orchestra in 2016. From 2018 to 2020, he specialized in wind band conducting at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Mannheim under the tutelage of Toni Scholl and Jörg A. Keller.

His conducting experience includes engagements with esteemed ensembles such as:

Horn Performance & Education

Adam completed his Master’s degrees in French Horn Performance and Music Pedagogy at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold between 2014 and 2017. He studied horn under the guidance of renowned professors including Hector McDonald (Graz), Szabolcs Zempléni (Trossingen), and Norbert Stertz and Michael Höltzel (Detmold).

As an orchestral musician, he has performed with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy, Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, Kammeroper Köln, and the Mannheimer Philharmoniker, among others.

Composition & Teaching

From 2006 to 2011, Adam studied Music Theory and Composition at the Kunstuni Graz with Clemens Gadenstätter and Georg Friedrich Haas. He has been a published author and arranger with Köbl Verlag (Munich) since 2015 and Helbling Verlag (Esslingen) since 2018. In recent years, his arrangements and compositions have been performed internationally across Europe by groups ranging from elementary school bands to professional ensembles.

Since 2019, he has also served as a music teacher at the Anne-Frank-Gesamtschule (High School) in Gütersloh, Germany.

In 2019, Adam joined the esteemed roster of composers at Saker Music.
